Fondazione dell'Albero d'Oro reopens the doors of Palazzo Vendramin Grimani in February 2023, presenting a photographic exhibition by Greek-born French artist Nikos Aliagas, result of a new artistic residence.
Nikos Aliagas, during his artistic residency which took place between July and December 2022, travelled through the Venetian streets to meet the very people who usually avoid stares and lenses: the inhabitants. Nikos Aliagas along with his camera travelled through the extraordinary everyday life of streets of Venice, making sure that the images told the stories of those who live and make these places come alive. Aliagas's photographs are strictly black and white: the artist has explored contrasts, backlighting, and movements within shots in which straight and curved lines blend on a face or at the corner of a street.
